Radio

Kyle McCurry got his start in broadcasting in 2004 as the volunteer co-host of a talk show at WWCU-FM. After moving with the program to a station in Asheville, McCurry was offered a paid position at WWCU-FM. He hosted a music radio show and eventually became general manager. He ran the station for more than three years, recruiting a volunteer staff of 70 (comprised of students, faculty and staff members at Western Carolina University), building relationships with clients and selling underwriting.

In 2008, he moved to the Finger Lakes region of New York to become program director and afternoon host of WNGZ-FM. During his tenure at the station, he took on a leadership role in marketing and organized promotions and live events.   Beyond his management responsibilities, McCurry hosted a specialty interview series — known in North Carolina as "The Interview Series" and New York as "Classic Rock Insider" —  featuring more than 75 legendary rock and roll artists.
